Physical Bunker Trader

Oversee and manage daily inquiries and operational matters for physical bunker deliveries (VLSFO & MGO) at Colombo Port (berth/anchorage/OPL), Port of Galle (OPL), and Port of Hambantota (berth/anchorage). Negotiated and fix bunker deals with global traders, shipowners, and operators, ensuring competitive pricing and optimized profit margins by handling average monthly volume of 6,000 MT of VLSFO & 2,500 MT of MGO. Analyzed daily market trends using Trading View, S&P Global Platts, Ship & Bunker, and Mabux to support pricing strategies. Coordinated with the operations team to ensure smooth bunker deliveries and maintain high service standards for international clients.

Junior Executive – Supply Chain

Collaborated with the internal teams to ensure a streamlined supply of their requirements. Discussed and negotiate for prices and payment methods with vendors. Raised purchase orders according to each division and internal team’s requirements. Closely monitored purchase orders to ensure on time delivery of requirements to meet streamlined production plans. Maintained delivery plans and reports to ensure streamlined delivery of purchased products, raw materials, packing material, labels, etc. to production plants. Prepared Letter of credits and Telegraphic Transfer applications as per proforma invoices. Get approvals for LC and TT applications from management prior sending to the banks. Prepared reports and maintain records / documents basis the LC and TT applications. Maintained reports basis the container deposit details. Checked import licensing details based on the requirements and get necessary approvals for the documents from the management. Liaised with shipping lines regarding imports and track shipment arrivals.
