Supervise the staff of laboratory technologists, ensure staff are in accordance with accreditation and regulatory bodies Plan and assign workload, monitor test analyze and specimen examinations, develop and update technical policies and procedures, and monitor ongoing quality management activity Isolate bacteria and other microorganism cultures. Recommend methods for obtaining and transporting clinical specimens that aid in diagnosing infectious diseases. Select the most appropriate tests and identify Bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic agents Organizations: that are likely to be contributing to infectious processes. Determine the susceptibility of organisms to antimicrobial agents that could be used to treat infections caused by microorganisms Coordinates the implementation and surveillance of Quality control standards including proper transportation, delivery, and identification of incoming specimens, periodic instruction, testing and preventive maintenance of equipment and instruments, regular analysis of control samples and standards, and the update of laboratory manuals
